I have a 1995 klx 650, like the klr but a little more off road. I have a 950 adventure and my klx is more fun to ride. Not great on the road but the klr is very comfy. The other members hit it on the head, for a second bike go for the klr, the f650 is a heavy bike for the HP it has, you have your bmw for the road, hit the trails with the klr! The problems seem to have begun in around 2000 or 2001 after BMW took over full production of the bike from Aprilia (Italy) and BMW also began making the Rotax motors in house instead of having Rotax supply the motors as done previously.
