The Nikon 14-24mm shines on the FX sensor and is even better on DX, although I personally think that it is too much of a lens for DX – I would hate to see its corners cut off. Read the full Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED Review by Photography Life.
Now, to see what Nikon does with their forthcoming 14-24 2.8. It doesn't sound like it will be as lightweight as this, but as a flagship Nikon Z-mount lens, it'll undoubtedly be insanely sharp, and who knows, maybe its slightly larger size will allow better transmission/lower vignetting.
This is another early Nikon Z lens that's been somewhat eclipsed by the later NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S and NIKKOR Z 17-28mm f/2.8, but it's the same pattern as we see with the 24-70mm f/4 S. The newer 14-24mm pro lens costs twice as much as the NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S and has a shorter zoom range, while the 17-28mm f/2.8 costs no more but is a
At 17.7 ounces (500g) and 3.5" (88.5mm) in length, the 24-70mm f4 S is one of the smaller 24-70mm mid-range zooms you can find. It's close to the size and weight of the 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G lens, which is the smallest F-mount Nikon option to date (note that the F-mount 24-85mm on the FTZ adapter would be bigger and heavier than the 24-70mm S).
Nikon's mirrorless lens roadmap just moved two steps further forward with the launch of the new 14-24mm F2.8 S and 50mm F1.2 S for Z-mount. Read on to learn more about these two premium Z-mount lenses.
Great review as always! I decided to get 14 30 for general photography and 20 1.8 for wide angle astrophotography instead of 14-24. The 20 1.8 is exceptional as well and for daytime images f4 is enough, also 14-30 is lighter. (also 14-24 wasn’t yet released when I got the 14-30).

The 24-70 f/2.8 Z lens was going to be a good $1700 more than the f/4 lens. It was a no-brainer on what to do. At $1700, I can get a 50/1.8 to get to a lower DOF if I need it. You can probably see where I'm going. The Z 14-24 f/2.8 is a $2400 lens. The Z 14-30 f/2.8 is a $1300. That's $1100 that could go to getting a Z 7II instead (just about
